Veterans Benefits

Veterans and their surviving spouses are eligible for a VA pension and in need of a caregiver's "aid and attendance" may qualify for additional benefits to offset senior living costs. Even those with excess income who are ineligible for a basic VA pension might still qualify for these benefits. For 2020, the award amounts are $2,266 for a married veteran, $1,911 for a single veteran, and $1,288 for a surviving spouse. Please note that Bayshire Senior Communities cannot assist with pre-qualifying for this benefit or provide specific award amounts, but we aim to offer resources to help you understand the program.
