1000 Books before Kindergarten . . . . encourages parents and caregivers to provide positive, nurturing, early literacy experiences by reading aloud to their children regularly. Research shows the most reliable predictor of school success is being read to at home during early childhood. By sharing books with children, you promote a lifelong love of books and reading. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes, you can repeat books) before your child starts kindergarten. Receive a prize for every 100 books read.
